Yatharth Banerjee Singh
Yatharth Banerjee Singh (he/him) is an NYU Shanghai sophomore from India, majoring in Business and Finance with a minor in Social Science. His research interests focus on media narratives' dual role in driving social progress while sometimes skewing public perception, a perspective shaped by his previous nonprofit and marketing experience. Outside academics, he supports Arsenal passionately, follows WWE closely, and enjoys reading modern history and detective novels—always exploring how stories influence our world, both on and off the page.
Yutong Zhao
Yutong Zhao is a sophomore at NYU Shanghai, majoring in Business and Finance with a minor in Mathematics. She enjoys thinking about the connections between various aspects of life and the economic society. She is also interested in how different cultural backgrounds influence people’s behavior in economic and social contexts. In her daily life, Yutong is passionate about volunteering and has participated in many service programs organized by NYU Shanghai Dean’s Service Corps and Community-Engaged Learning. She is also a member of the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2024. Additionally, Yutong loves traveling and sports, enjoying the experience of different cultures.
Catherine Chandra
Catherine is a junior at NYU Shanghai, majoring in Finance with minors in Chinese and Economics. She is currently studying away at NYU Washington, D.C., where she is interning at the Library of Congress and assisting a Ph.D. research scholar. The experience has been a valuable opportunity to sharpen her research and writing skills. Outside of her academic commitments, Catherine enjoys Pilates and Muaythai. She’s also an unapologetic binge-watcher—known to hit “play” when the sky turns dark and still be watching even when she finds the sun has risen.
Jiasheng Li (Jason)
Jiasheng Li (Jason) is a senior at NYU Shanghai, majoring in Data Science with a minor in Interactive Media Arts. He specializes in exploring the intersection of technology and real-world applications, drawing on his background in data analysis and digital media. In his free time, Jason enjoys watching TV series and films, going to the theater, and reading. After spending a year studying away at NYU Abu Dhabi — his first long time away from Shanghai — he’s returning to NYU Shanghai for his final semesters before graduation.
Addie Dung Manh Nguyen
Addie Dung Manh Nguyen (he/him) is an NYU Shanghai sophomore student from Hue, Vietnam, majoring in Neural Science and Social Science (Global Public Health). His interests focus on medical and non-medical interventions for disadvantaged groups vulnerable to stress and depression, as well as studying memory formation and loss as a biochemical process and a social phenomenon. He’s also interested in movies and cinematography as a vehicle for social progress and a reflection of social injustices.

Yutong is a sophomore student at NYU Shanghai, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Mathematics. She focuses on the intersection of technology and real-world applications. Driven by curiosity, she is passionate about exploring emerging technologies and their practical applications. In her free time, she enjoys playing badminton, traveling, and photography.
Red Wertheimer
Red Wertheimer is a senior from Hong Kong and Hawaii, who previously studied at NYU Shanghai. Embracing her passion and training in ballet and fitness, she is now studying sport psychology at New Zealand’s University of Otago. Beyond her academic interests, she loves hiking, climbing, pilates, teaching BodyCombat, and icy dips in freezing water.
