A commitment to writing among and between languages

The notion of 'confluences' suggests the intersection and intermingling of different people, places, or things. In this journal, narratives and ideas from a diverse range of cultures flow and hybridize just as, in Shanghai, poplar trees and classical architecture mingle with brightly lit skyscrapers, cutting-edge tech, and the electric buzz of commerce and entertainment. While much of the fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or other creative works featured in the journal may draw from the university's Creative Writing classes, the editors also invite submissions from around the university, including visual or digital arts.
